Who We Are

JR Hood is a HUD-authorized Third Party Tracer operated by Mindstorm Unlimited LLC. We help homeowners recover FHA mortgage insurance refunds owed to them by HUD.

What We Collect

When you submit a claim form on our website, we collect:

• Your name (to confirm your identity)
• Your phone number (to communicate about your claim)
• Your email address, if you provide one (to send confirmations and updates)

We also use publicly available data from HUD’s refund database, including your name, approximate location, and refund amount. Your current mailing address may be obtained through a licensed data provider to send you an initial outreach letter.

Why We Collect It

We use your information for one purpose: to process your FHA refund claim with HUD on your behalf. That’s it.

Who We Share It With

Nobody. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. The only time your data leaves our system is when we submit your claim to HUD — which is the whole point.

How We Protect It

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in a secure database. Access is restricted to JR Hood staff only.

Text Messages (SMS)

By providing your phone number on our claim form, you consent to receive transactional text messages related to your refund claim. These may include signing links, status updates, and reminders.

• Message frequency varies based on your claim status.
• Message and data rates may apply.

Your Rights

You can request that we delete your information at any time by contacting us. If you’d rather claim your refund directly through HUD (for free, with no finder’s fee), you are always welcome to do so.
